Ty Murray, Dan Mortenson and Kanin Asay all had to start somewhere. Did you know that JR Vezain, Chris LeDeoux and Dusty Tuckness as well as Ty, Dan and Kanin all got their start in small town rodeos right here in the Big Horn Basin? There are hundreds of years of rodeo in the Basin and the Big Horn Rodeo Circuit is ready to Cowboy Up! The BHRC consists of 10 rodeos between May and September 2015 so there will be plenty to do and see in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. The Mission of the Big Horn Rodeo Circuit is to bring small town rodeos together for the promotion and growth of all who are associated with the circuit.
The Big Horn Rodeo Circuit is actively seeking sponsors and a cowgirl to serve as Rodeo Queen of the Big Horn Rodeo Circuit. Each rodeo location is eligible to enter their own Rodeo Queen and the BHRC will then crown a young lady from these entries. Ten Sleep is offering a FREE Rodeo Queen Clinic on May 9th & 10th with Miss Wyoming Rodeo Queen for those interested in seeing what it takes to be a rodeo queen.
Each rodeo will have events that they usually offer from Breakaway, Barrel Racing, Team Roping to the rough stock events of Bareback, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding. Each contestant will receive one point, just for givin it a go in the arena. The ones that place in their event, will receive more points for their placement and the top point holders will receive a Grand Finale All Around prize for top Male and top Female.
There has been a tremendous amount of work that has been done to get this venture off the ground. Meetings, phone calls, emails and designing have been going on since October of 2014. Today we are able to see all of this hard work paying off. The website is fully operational with information being updated constantly with the schedule for each rodeo in the Circuit as well as give you the standings of contestants.
Get ready to watch the next Ty, Dusty or Dan as the Big Horn Rodeo Circuit shows how to Cowboy UP!
