Legend Rock Petroglyphs

Petroglyphs are illustrations created by carving or scraping images into stone. Legend Rock Petroglyphs is a location that was paid homage to for thousands of years and the Native Americans told their story on the rock face to honor this sacred place. Approximately 300 petroglyph figures decorate the clifface. These petroglyphs are still clearly visible today and can be viewed by traveling just 41 miles outside Meeteetse.

From October through April visitors must obtain the key to access the petroglyphs from the Meeteetse Visitors Center.

For more information on the Legend Rock Petroglyphs, contact the Visitor Center.
