Meeteetse Library Starts New Programs
Spring is in the air (Or at least it will be someday!) and the Library is feeling it! Our Seed Library in Meeteetse has officially launched and we’re anxious to have you come and see it! Come by to find out what seeds and resources are available! There are seed packets for you to take, plant, nurture and then, if you’re so inclined, save seeds and give some back to the Seed Library for next year. There is a wide variety of seed – vegetable and flowers. Each person can take 7 of the little packets each week. Let’s get started gardening!!
The Library will be participating in the Garage O Rama on Saturday, May 7, 10-2. We have a number of weeded and donated books, movies and CD Books that will be out and available. They are looking for a new home, and with a small donation to the Friends of the Library, they could be yours! These are perfect to stash in your camper or car, or to have available in your VRBO house or motel for guests!
Next Coffee Talk will be on Tuesday, May 10 at 10:00 am. Our guest will be Mary McKinney from Park County Weed & Pest. She will have lots of information about identifying and (trying!) to eliminate weeds, native plant selections, and resources Park County has available to help combat the spread of noxious weeds. We can ALL play a part in that battle!
The Library Book Group is reading “Blind Your Ponies” by Stanley Gordon West. “Author Stanley Gordon West has filled the town of Willow Creek with characters so vividly cast that they become real as relatives, and their stories—so full of humor and passion, loss and determination—illuminate a path into the human heart.” There are books availa- ble at the Library for check out, it is also available on Libby and Hoopla as an ebook or audiobook. Get a book and read with us! Book discussion will be Wednesday, May 18 at 1:00.
On Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 the Library will show recorded video from the Univer- sity of Wyoming “Barnyard & Backyard” series. These programs are shown live on Friday mornings via Zoom or Facebook – we’ll show the recordings at the time that best meets the needs of our community. For now that seems to be Wednesday afternoons. They last about an hour and have some good tips applicable to Wyoming. This week we’ll show one on Composting in Wyoming.
Meeteetse Library can now offer Notary Service on most Wednesdays! Kelly, who comes from the Cody Library to work on getting all of our books formatted, labeled, inventoried, coded, etc., is a Notary and she brings her stamp with her when she comes. Give us a call or stop in. It is Free of Charge and just one more service available at your Library.
Tech Time – are you stumped with your mobile device, laptop or tablet and need a little help? Wednesday mornings are a good time to come up to the Library for a little one-on- one help. I’m not an expert but I can help with most day to day tasks – get an app down- loaded, get books to read or listen to on your device, send and receive emails and texts, and so on. YOU have to know and remember your login and passwords to all accounts – I can’t and won’t help you with this! But once you’re in I’m happy to help!!
The Library will be CLOSED the Saturday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend.
