Noted outlaw Butch Cassidy lived in Meeteetse. In 1886, he signed a petition for the new bridge, and in 1894, he was arrested in front of the Cowboy Bar.

Transportation
Meeteetse has a small bus service going into Cody once a week (depending on interest), on Thursdays. Call the Meeteetse Rec. Center at 307.868.2603 or their website for information. Meeteetse has no train connections.
Yellowstone Regional Airport is 32 miles away in Cody and features daily flights with several major carriers with service to Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT. There are also rental car agencies at the airport.
