Meeteetse Messenger - July 13, 2022

MEETEETSE LIBRARY COFFEE TALK & OTHER PROGRAMS

Meeteetse Library has a Fair Book available for In-House use (it can't leave the Library). If you need to make a couple copies it's on us, if you need many copies, it's on you!

MEETEETSE LIBRARY

COFFEE TALK & OTHER PROGRAMS

Summer Reading is under way and programs have started!! We have programs for ALL ages, birth - adult. Come up to the Library and get signed up - it is NEVER TOO LATE!

Elementary Stories and Activities are on Monday @ 10:00 - Everyone is welcome

Toddler Stories and Activities are on Friday @ 10:00 - Everyone is welcome

Coffee Talk guest this month will be Zach Nichols from the First Stop of Park County Help Center and Heart Mountain Free Health Clinic. Zach will share with us the resources that are available in Park County. Whether help is needed for us, our friends and family or our community - if we don't know what's available it's hard to provide the help needed. Knowledge is Power!

That evening, July 12, Beth Roberson is going to come in and "Show and Tell" us all about her Pine Needle Handmade Bas-kets!! If you haven't seen them, you are in for a treat!

Mark that date on your calendars!

In August the Meeteetse Library is going to host a Tiny Art Show in a Tiny Library! But, first, we need the Tiny Art! We are inviting all Teens and Adults in the community to come and get a tiny canvas (4" square) to create a piece art. This can be oil paint, watercolor, pencil, scrapbook, collage, mixed media, photography, etc. Use your creativity, talent and ingenuity to produce a work of art that we can show! Stop by the Library to pick up the canvas - we also have some paints if needed.

Book Club will meet on Wednesday, July 20 at 1:00. We've all been reading a book of choice that follows the Summer Read-ing there "Oceans of Possibilities". There is still time to grab a book and read. And really the Possibilities are endless , we're not sticklers on how closely you follow the theme - just read a fun book and come and share it with us!

Our Summer Reading will wind down with a Summer Reading Party on the morning of Tuesday, July 26.

That same evening, July 26 at 6:00 pm, we'll follow up on the Greenhouse presentation we had from Joe and Paige Paisley with an on-site field trip to their greenhouse. We'll not just imagine it - we'll see it! Bring your questions, your curiosity and maybe a drink! We'll see what they've done and see what we can take away for our own yards and gardens.

So...a busy June will be followed by a busy July!

And, looking ahead into August, we have a Magic Show coming on August 10 - the Magic of Elliot Hunter will astound and amaze!

Need a Notary? Kelly, from the Cody Library, is working on a project in Meeteetse and will be here (generally) on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month. She is a Notary - the service is free. Call for times (868-2248).

Did you know … the Library has an Overhead Projector that you can check out? This would be perfect for art projects, deco-rating, wall paintings – anytime you need to enlarge an image. Come and see us!

Our Seed Library at the Meeteetse Library has officially launched and we’re anxious to have you come and see it! Come by to find out what seeds and resources are available! There are seed packets for you to take, plant, nurture and then, if you’re so inclined, save seeds and give some back to the Seed Library for next year. There is a wide variety of seed – vegetable and flowers. Let’s get started gardening!!

Tech Time – are you stumped with your mobile device, laptop or tablet and need a little help? Wednesday mornings are a good time to come up to the Library for a little one-on-one help. I’m not an expert but I can help with most day-to-day tasks – get an app downloaded, get books to read or listen to on your device, send and receive emails and texts, and so on. YOU have to know and remember your login and passwords to all accounts – I can’t and won’t help you with this! But once you’re in I’m happy to help!!
