Upland Game Bird Hunting

  • Pheasant

    The pheasant can be found all around the world, including in and around Meeteetse, Wyoming. The male’s brightly colored feathers are what make this native bird so recognizable. The pheasant is beautiful to photograph and popular to hunt during bird season.

  • Blue Grouse

    The blue grouse is native to North America and Wyoming. This bird can be identified by the bright and distinct feather patterns. You can find these birds in both forest regions and mountain regions.

  • Chukar

    This is a small game bird that can be found here in the Meeteetse area. It’s distinct feather pattern help it camouflage into the surrounding environment, but it also makes it recognizable.

  • Wild Turkey

    Wild turkeys have an abundant population in and around Meeteetse. Permits can be purchased to hunt the surrounding area through Wyoming Game & Fish. Intown permits are also available for flock management. Intown permits allow hunters to harvest turkeys in town using a bow and arrow and permits can be purchased at the Wea Market. Hunting is the original socially distanced sport and Wyoming has it in abundance. Separate from the crowd when you draw a tag in Meeteetse. Enjoy one of the most pristine landscapes in the country and surround yourself with world class game such as Mule deer, elk, Bighorn sheep, pheasant, Blue grouse, Chukar and more.
