Meeteetse Library Starts New Programs

National Library Week is April 3-9 this year. Celebrate Libraries with us by coming up and getting a Library Card (if you don’t already have one!) and by checking out a book or movie. If you haven’t been to the Library lately stop by and let us show you all that the Library has to offer you!

On Wednesday afternoons the Library will show recorded video from the University of Wyoming “Barnyard & Backyard” series. These programs are shown live on Friday mornings via Zoom or Facebook – we’ll show the recordings at the time that best meets the needs of our community. For now that seems to be Wednesday afternoons. This week, Wednesday, Mar 23, 2:00, the program is “How to Grow Leafy Greens & Peas in Wyoming” with Brian Sebade with the University of Wyoming Extension Service. They last about an hour and have some good tips applicable to Wyoming.

Do you love the library and small wonderful communities where everyone knows your name? Then this is the job for you! Park County Library System is hiring for a Library Assistant for the Meeteetse Library. Meeteetse Library is one of only two libraries in the state of Wyoming that is a public library and a school library. This is a great chance to work with patrons of all ages, create, dynamic programming and be a prominent member of the community. This is a part-time position that may roll into a full-time position with the potential to become the Branch Librarian of the Meeteetse Library, if you are the right candidate. We are looking for someone with long-term dependability, enthusiasm, and creativity, who can work independently, be a team player, and who loves working with kids. Send an application with resume and cover letter to lseaton@parkcountylibrary.org or drop it off at any three of our Park County Libraries. This job position closes on Friday, April 18, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. For more information, visit https://parkcountylibrary.org/about-us/employment/.

The Library Book Group will read a Biography/Autobiography of choice this month. You get to pick the book! We’ll meet on Wednesday, April 20 at 1:00 to hear a little about each of the choices.

Spring is in the air and the Library is feeling it! Our Seed Library in Meeteetse has officially launched and we’re anxious to have you come and see it! Come by to find out what seeds and resources are available! There are seed packets for you to take, plant, nurture and then, if you’re so inclined, save seeds and give some back to the Seed Library for next year.

Meeteetse Library can now offer Notary Service on most Wednesdays! Kelly, who comes from the Cody Library to work on getting all of our books formatted, labeled, inventoried, coded, etc. is a Notary and she brings her stamp with her when she comes. Give us a call or stop in. It is Free of Charge and just one more service available at your Library.

And keeping with the Gardening Theme – our April Coffee Talk (April 12 @ 10:00) will be with Joe & Paige Paisley. They have been Greenhouse Gardening for years and will share some of their pointers, expertise and tips with us.

Tech Time – are you stumped with your mobile device, laptop or tablet and need a little help? Wednesday mornings are a good time to come up to the Library for a little one-on-one help. I’m not an expert but I can help with most day to day tasks – get an app downloaded, get books to read or listen to on your device, send and receive emails and texts, and so on. YOU have to know and remember your login and passwords to all accounts – I can’t and won’t help you with this! But once we’re in I’m happy to help!!
