Meeteetse Library Coffee Talk and Other Programs
September is Library Card Sign Up Month! If you don't have a Library Card you should! Come up and let me tell you all the
benefits you get with a Library Card!
On Thursday afternoons the Meeteetse Library will have a planned After School activity for kids (8 & up, unless accompanied
by an adult or sibling or as part of the Rec After School program). This will vary from week to week but will include
Legos, Board and Card Games, Crafts, Games and other activities. It will be a screen-free time. It is free and everyone is welcome
to join us.
Meeteetse Readers! The Library Book Group took a short hiatus during the summer months but it's time to get back to reading!
Everyone is welcome to join us - all it entails is reading and sharing your thoughts on the book. Sometimes we all read
the same book, other times we all read the same author, or genre, or a book of our choice. We will meet Wednesday, Sept.
21 at 1:00. I will hand out books then - you don't need to have read anything by then! For next month we'll read "The Beatryce
Prophesy" by Kate DiCamillo. It is a Juvenile Chapter book and is a nominee for the Wyoming Indian Paintbrush award.
This is a wonderful story with some delightful, quirky, engaging characters.
Have you thought of opening a Small Business? Do you wish you had a Small Business but aren't sure where to begin? Do
you have a Small Business but wonder if you could or should be doing things differently? Do you have questions and wish
there was someone to ask? The Meeteetse Library has a great program coming up in October just for you! Devon Costa-
Cargill with the Wyoming Small Business Development Center will be hosting a "Start Your Own Business" workshop
on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 6:00-7:30. It is aimed at helping you to be successful with your small business. Call Meeteetse Library,
868-2248, with any questions. This is free and open to everyone.
Coming in October: A showing of the film "My Wild Lands". The film was produced by Western Migration Initiative and underscores
the difficulties facing small family ranches - and how important they are not only to preserving the wide open
spaces we love in Wyoming, but also to the future of the game animals who use the same land for feed and migration
routes. One of the ranches featured is the Bischoff Ranch in Lovell - the other two are in Lander and Laramie.
This promises to be a film focused on what is near and dear to our hearts! Stay tuned for more details but mark Monday, Oct
10, 6:00 pm on your calendars
The Meeteetse Chatelaine Quilters have donated a fabulous Quilt to the Meeteetse Friends of the Library to be used as a
fundraiser. Raffle Tickets will be on sale now until Oct. 22, which is the end of National Friends of the Library Week! Tickets
are $10 each or 6 tickets for $50. Tickets can be purchased at the Library or can be purchased online at https://
meeteetsefriendslibrary.betterworld.org/giveaways/hand-made-library-quilt This is definitely a piece of Art!
The Tiny Art Show was a really fun program. Everyone enjoyed seeing the artistic talents from our community. But we're
done now - until next year. If you had an art piece on display, you can come and pick them up.
Need a Notary? Kelly, from the Cody Library, is working on a project in Meeteetse and will be here (generally) on the 1st &
3rd Wednesdays of each month. She is a Notary - the service is free. Call for times (868-2248).
Did you know … the Library has an Overhead Projector that you can check out? This would be perfect for art projects, decorating,
wall paintings – anytime you need to enlarge an image. Come and see us!
Tech Time – are you stumped with your mobile device, laptop or tablet and need a little help? Wednesday mornings are a
good time to come up to the Library for a little one-on-one help. I’m not an expert but I can help with most day-to-day tasks –
get an app downloaded, get books to read or listen to on your device, send and receive emails and texts, and so on. YOU have
to know and remember your login and passwords to all accounts – I can’t and won’t help you with this! But once you’re in
I’m happy to help!!
